The Countdown Begins….Again!

That’s right!  Ironman Louisville is just over a month away.  After returning from Canada, I took a week off to help prepare myself mentally and physically to continue my training for L-ville.  This is the longest I’ve trained for a season, for long-distance racing.  Typically once August arrives, my “A” races are complete.  At some point last year, though, I thought it would be a good idea to sign up for two Ironman races for this season.  I have since questioned my sanity.  🙂

So where am I?  I seem to be asking myself this question a lot lately. A LOT.  To be honest, I’m tired of training.  Yes, I said it.  I’m done.  Mentally and physically.  I have lost my swim, bike, run love, but I am trying to remind myself that it’s times like these that I will learn the most about myself.  I’ve had some great training sessions and some that have me questioning why I’m toeing the line at another IM.  I know when it’s all said and done, I’ll be able to reflect on this tri season and everything that has happened will all suddenly make sense.  Right??  Right – that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.  In all honesty, though, I’m really looking forward to IMLOU; I just have to make it there without crashing and burning beforehand.

  1. You are going to be stronger, both mentally and physically, after having gone through this challenge. When things get tough, remember why you signed up for this challenge in the first place and know that so many of us will be cheering for you on race day 🙂
